TOXIN EXPOSURE
Toxic Tort is best described as a personal injury or property damage caused by chemical exposure or pollution. Examples of a toxic
tort include:
- Train derailment where toxic chemicals are spilled
and the toxic fumes spread out over the surrounding neighborhood causing respiratory
problems.
- Handling pesticides on a continuous basis over many
years wherein the toxicity of the chemicals is previously unknown.
- Breathing highly polluted air over long periods of
time, which leads to respiratory problems.
