MEDICAL MALPRACTICE
Medical malpractice is defined as a dereliction of professional
duty or a failure to exercise an accepted degree of professional skill or learning
by one (as a physician) rendering professional services which results in injury,
loss, or damage, or an injurious, negligent, or improper practice.
Claims for medical malpractice include failure to diagnose,
birth injury, cardiac medicine and surgical malpractice. In such cases of negligence,
you can hold anyone responsible. Lawsuits can be brought against hospitals, doctors,
nurses, dentists - any medical facility or practitioner that has been negligent
